Thermobond
The Process of Creating Durable and Long-Lasting Nonwovens from Fibers
In thermobond technology, fibers are bonded by heating and softening the low-melting-point fibers within the blend. The layered fiber web formed in the carding machine passes through a heat zone designed to target only the meltable fibers. Once cooled, these fibers solidify and lock the surrounding fibers in place.
This method can be used for the production of synthetic, natural, or blended fiber nonwovens. After the bonding process, thermobond fabrics can be further enhanced through optional processes such as thermal bonding, film lamination, powder coating, chemical coating, wet chemical impregnation, pressing, and extrusion coating. This technology offers a broad range of application possibilities across various industries.
